Charity Block – Patience

 

 

 

 

 The ‘Patience’ block has no triangles.  

  • Cut four light background squares 3-1/2” square. 

  • From one print  fabric cut four rectangles 2” x 3-1/2” square.

  • From another cut two rectangles 2” x 3-1/2” square and two rectangles 2” x 6-1/2”. 

  • Arrange pieces as shown in diagram and sew together.  Unfinished block size should be 9-1/2” square.

Sample quilt to left shows a quilt made from one coloration of the block.

I have been cutting my scraps up into the shapes for Patience blocks and made several charity quilts. Here are some examples of quilt tops.

   
My Panes and Frames pattern is basically controlled patience blocks with an attractive border.
